The Word - April 24, 2012  -  KNOWING GOD'S WILL

"This is what the Lord says, 'Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. So the Lord must wait for you to come to Him so He can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for His help. Though the Lord allowed you adversity for food and suffering for drink, He will still be with you and teach you, and you will see your teacher with your own eyes. Your ears will hear him, and right behind you a voice will say, 'This is the way you should go, whether to the right or to the left." (Isaiah 30:15, 18-21) JND translation.

If you know Jesus Christ as your own personal Savior, here are some things for you to begin to think on. God has a special plan for every one of His children. The life of every born again believer is significant and every life has purpose. Proverbs 3:6 says, " In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths."

That is one of God's special promises. He is going to direct your paths, but there is a condition associated with the fact that He will direct your paths and that is, "In all your ways acknowledge Him!" That is, live your life in total dependence on Him, live with that spirit of love and obedience to Him.

Here is a plain statement of fact: You cannot have the knowledge of God's guidance in your life if it is detached from your walk with God, your total dependence and genuine intimacy with Him.

If you are "hugging" obvious disobedience in your life, be assured, God knows exactly what it is, whether an unforgiving spirit, lack of genuine love, or any unconfessed sin, you will not enjoy His guidance in your life. He says, "This is the way, walk in it." We must confess any sin, and allow God's will to become our will.

So, what is your vision? What is my sense of God's desire for my life? Secondly, what does the Scripture say? In Psalm 119 we read, "Direct my footsteps according to Your Word." The will of God is never in conflict with the Word of God.
