The Word - April 25, 2012 - KNOWING GOD'S
WILL
"Because of Christ and our faith in
Him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God's presence. When I think
of this, I fall on my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything
in heaven and earth. I pray, that from His glorious, unlimited resources, He
will empower you with inner strength through the Spirit. And may you have the
power to understand as all God's people should, how wide, how high and deep His
love is. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power
that comes from God" (Ephesians 3: 12,14, 16-19).
Do you get it? Has the Spirit through the above
Scripture been able to help you understand what God is saying to you? No one
could possible enter into an understanding of this Scripture without realizing
that God intends His children to experience the fullness of His presence in the
here and now.
It is like beginning an exciting adventure that takes you to a higher level
than you ever thought possible in your relationship with God. The adventure I
speak of is neither a Spartan excursion nor an amusement park ride. It requires
the pursuit of a difficult set of personal spiritual disciplines.
Paul, through the Spirit, is informing us as to what our life with Christ
should consist of:
*To experience the riches of His glory
*To be strengthened by His Spirit
*To be rooted and grounded in His love
*To be filled with all the fullness of God
This is the kind of life experienced by the early believers as they gathered
together in the name of the Lord. The early believers were Spirit filled at
Pentecost. On that day two awesome things took place; first, the 120 believers
in the upper room received a special baptism that made them part of Christ, and
secondly, Christ received a new body. They received power, power to move into
new dimensions of worship, praise, service and witness.
Their example has given us today, a clear picture of the only way to ever
experience the fullness of God in our lives. Are you listening to the Word that describes their
journey?
