PRAYER, THE LIFE-BREATH OF A PERSONS' SOUL
"You can ask for anything in My name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory
to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it"
(John 14:13-14).
A person may reach heaven without education, or books or
knowledge, but no one ever reached heaven without prayer! Prayer is the very
breath of the soul. Without prayer we may have a name that we live, and even be
counted as a Christian, but be completely dead in the sight of God.
The awareness of our soul is that we must cry out to God
for mercy and peace recognizing that this is a mark of grace. We all have the
need of spreading out before our Heavenly Father our souls needs, and this is
the evidence that we indeed are His children.
There is no time as well spent as that which a person
spends on their knees. Make time for this, whatever else you do. What did David say? "Evening and morning, and at
noon, I will pray and cry aloud: and He shall hear my voice" (Psalm
55:17).
Prayer is the only way to produce the outpouring of the
Holy Spirit on our hearts. He is ready to come with all His precious gifts,
renewing, sanctifying, purifying, cheering, teaching, directing, and guiding us
into all truth. But He waits for us to entreat Him!
If we are to resist the world, the flesh, and the devil, we must pray. There
must be specific times when you speak to God face to face; you must have a time
set aside for prayer, and then learn what it means to pray without ceasing.
Beloved, You must pray!
