Let them all praise the name of the Lord; for His name is very great; His glory towers over the earth and heaven" (Psalm 148:13).

Over and over again, the Scriptures speak of the worthy name of our blessed Lord. In Ephesians 1:21 we are reminded His name is far above "every Name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come." His Name is "as ointment poured forth" (Song of Sol. 1:3).

Just for a few moments today, think of some of the familiar titles and

descriptions of that Name which is above every other name. Who is He? "The Son of God, the only begotten of the Father, the living God, Emmanuel. the God of glory, the Holy One; Jehovah, the everlasting God, the Lord strong and mighty, the Alpha and Omega, the express image of God, the Rose of Sharon, the Lily of the Valley, and the Sun of Righteousness.

Again we read of that worthy Name that He is our Great High Priest, our Mercy Seat, He is our peace, a living stone, and hundreds more! All these names and attributes of that worthy Name are familiar to us. What a joy and delight it ought to be to follow Him, to exalt Him, to be devoted to such a one. Ah yes! in spite of our waywardness, He carries us in kindness, unconditional love and patience.

I am reminded that in Revelation 19:12 that He also has a name which expresses the fullness of His work and glory. No one knows what that name is; "He has a name written, that no one knew, but He Himself." But oh! the blessedness which is before us, His redeemed people. Of each of us it is written that we shall see His face! And again in Revelation 22:4, we are told, "His Name shall be in our foreheads." That speaks of perfect knowledge! We shall be like Him, we shall finally be a perfect reflection of Himself!

In a feeble way we get glimpses of His precious, worthy name. Our hearts are blessed by the revelation of His beauty and loveliness, and that only through the power of the Holy Spirit. The work of the Holy Spirit dwelling in our hearts will always be to tell us more about our Lord and Savior.

Oh! how He is eager to tell us more of His worth, of His glory, of His grace and of all He is and all He has for you and me. How it grieves Him when our hearts do not respond to the great inheritance He has secured for us through His death and resurrection. Beloved, only Christ can give us joy and comfort, peace and rest as we travel through this present evil world. Are you intimate with Him? Is your heart stirred as you are reminded on what He desires to be in your life?

Is your heart attracted to that One? Do you have a great burning desire in your heart to know Him better? Do you appreciate Him more than ever before? With Paul can you cry out, "That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable to His death" ? May we be so moved in honor of His name!
