The Word - Jan. 23, 2012 -  HE ALONE IS WORTHY

"Unto Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood; and has made us kings and priests unto God and His Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen" (Revelation 1:5-6).

In the fifth chapter of Revelation, that great worship scene which will begin one day in heaven and go on for all eternity, we read of the lamb who was slain to whom honor and glory are due, causing the hearts of all who truly love Him to cry out: He alone is worthy! And as long as we His redeemed ones are still in this sin-cursed age, God is calling us to honor and glorify His Son.

Think of Him, beloved ones! During the countless ages of eternity past He was even then the Beloved Son. When God created all things, it was for His Son and by His Son. He was ever the delight of the Father. In all Christ did, every step of the way, the Holy One sought only to do the Father's will. And then He went to the cross, putting away sin by the sacrifice of Himself, in the terrible suffering endured on the cross, in the hours of darkness when as the substitute for sinners He tasted death. Even in that dark hour God's holy hand rested upon that beloved One in judgment we should have received.

Then God in His mighty power opened the grave and brought Him forth. Yes, He conquered the last fortress of darkness on the face of the earth, even death itself, and in mighty power was raised from the dead. He was received up in the glory, exalted to heaven's highest position, seated at the right hand of God the Father. He is the heir of all things, the upholder of all things and all things consist and exist by Him.

O child of God, walk close to Him! Sit ever at His feet! Cast yourself completely on Him! Let our precious Savior become your all in all! And when He has become the complete object of your heart, you then will give the honor due to Him. To do this will mean separation from those things in the world that cause us to stray.

God's call to His people is to stand apart from anything which dishonors His Son. Dear friends He alone is worthy of all we are and have. Honor and glorify Him who is our Lord whom we shall soon see face to face.

"Worthy, worthy is the Lamb! Worthy, worthy is the Lamb!
Worthy, worthy is the Lamb That was slain"
Praise Him, hallelujah, Praise Him hallelujah!
Praise Him, Hallelujah! Praise the Lamb!
